Claudia Adventure is an undersea adventure game for the NES. This demo was created for the NESmaker 2020 Byte-Off Competition.
>STORY
Meet Fiona, a mermaid who, after a mysterious calamity at the Grand Water Palace, must journey to reunite with her family. Has she always been a mermaid, and is her name truly Fiona? Why does she feel drawn to the old human statues throughout the undersea kingdom? Statues engraved with a single word... "Claudia".
>BACKGROUND
Claudia, my four-year-old, conceived the idea and is in charge of most enemy and area concepts and names, and has been the primary playtester and sounding board.
This demo is a work in progress and may change significantly as development progresses.

Install instructions
Download the .zip file and unzip onto your computer. Open the *.NES file with a NES emulator. MESEN is recommended, and was used exclusively for testing and development.

I'm curious if you're still working on this. The concept seems pretty interesting.
I haven't, but I've thought about it. I'd like to come back through and punch up the graphics a bit and rethink the music, and expand the map.
Nice concept for a Metroidania/adventure game. Reminds me of stuff like Aquaria from circa 2007. Check that out if you haven't yet.
